BB 125 Celebrations

2008 is the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Boys' Brigade movement in Scotland. To celebrate this occasion various BB groups around the country are organising special events. Those we know of so far are as follows:

14 August – 7th Hamilton BB
20-21 September; Canterbury Battalion.
4 October – Wellington BB. Contact David Jackson or Ashley Clarkson.
4 October – 1st Waitakere BB.
4 October - Manawatu BB.

Camps: Waikato 125th Camp 4 – 8 October 2008. Contact Andrew Mortensen.

Queens Award Ceremony

This past weekend 22 BB boys, and 16 girls from Girls Brigade with family and friends attended the presentation of the Queens Award Certificates at Government House Wellington by their Excellencies, The Governor General of New Zealand, The Hon Anand Satyanand and Susan Satyanand, The Saturday Banquet and Sunday morning church service (combined with the Girls Brigade) speaker was Al Ronberg. Thanks to Stedfast Association Secretary Colin Shields and Rev Harry Shaw ONZM for presenting copies of “The Anchor Holds” to the BB awardees as well as a cheque towards the BB work.

BBNZ Launches New Website

BBNZ launches a new website today. The new bb.org.nz offers more content, new features, and a fresh look. Many pages have been reassigned new locations as sub-pages. Redirects have been established in order for those who have bookmarked old sites to be able to access the new location. Some content (such as news and the events list) have RSS feeds for those who use RSS aggregators.

We've also introduced a new feature for our leaders, allowing for them to collaborate online on secure forums. In addition, they can add upcoming events which can be viewed by anyone by following the appropriate link.

Feel free to sign up to our free 80 Seconds Bulletin, sent out by email at the beginning of each month. BBNZ Congratulates Mike Batten on QSM

Boys' Brigade New Zealand is proud to congratulate Mike Batten, Captain of the 29th Wellington Company for his Queen's Service Medal for services to the Boys' Brigade. Mike's QSM was announced in the 2007 Queen's Birthday Honours.
